SpamExperts: Managing Users

Overview

SpamExperts allows the account owner to set up individual user logins so each email user can log in to view their quarantined messages and manage their personal email settings.

SpamExperts applies to all emails coming in for a user name through your domain. You are able to set up rules for individual email addresses. When someone sends an email to a domain that uses SpamExperts, the email goes initially to the SpamExperts mail server. From there, the message is filtered, and any that are marked as spam are discarded or quarantined based on the user's settings. The messages that make it through continue on to the current mail server, where you would then be filtered by Spam Assassin or any other filtering that has been set up.

Using SpamExperts allows you to have an option to create internal SpamExpert accounts for each individual email address. This enables freedom for your email users to manage their own Spam filtering without the hosting/domain owner needing to monitor and edit every email account.

Create Email Users

Follow these steps to create a login for each of your email users:

Bluerock

  1. Log in to your Bluehost control panel.
  2. Click the account icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
  3. Choose Products from the drop-down that appears.

  3. Toggle the checkbox to the left of the domain in question and hit on View Dashboard.

Legacy accounts will feature a horizontal navigation bar at the top of the screen, while Bluerock account users will see a vertical navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen. If you are unsure whether the account uses the Legacy or Bluerock interface, please see Rock vs. Legacy to determine which steps to follow.

Once inside your SpamExperts Dashboard:
  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the left-side menu and under Users & Permissions, click the Manage email users tab.

  4. Create a password, then enter it again to confirm. The password must contain:
    • At least six characters
    • At least one uppercase letter or digit
    • At least one lowercase letter
    • No spaces
  5. Click the Save button.
  6. Repeat these steps for each email user you would like to create.

Alternatively, you can upload a CSV file containing the username, domain name, password, and active status of each email user.

Pro Tip! Now each of your users can log in to their SpamPanel at https://spamlogin.com by entering their email address and the password you've created for them.

Manage Email Users

On the Manage Email Users page, select the black drop-down arrow next to an email user for the following options:

  • Edit - Change their username, password, and/or status.
  • Delete - Permanently delete the email user's login.
  • Log in as a User - Log in as the email user so you can see what they see.
  • Enforce 2FA - You can require individual users to use 2FA for added security. If they didn’t have it enabled before, they'd be prompted to set it up the next time they log in.

Manage Permissions

Here you can manage the permissions for how resources are accessed by the users you manage. Each resource can be accessed by four methods:

  • GET is for viewing data.
  • POST is for creating new entries.
