What is Google Workspace?

Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for Work is a suite of web applications created by Google for businesses. Your Google Workspace account will give you access to Gmail on your preferred domain and 30GB of Google Drive storage per user. Through G Suite, you will also have access to a number of powerful Google applications: Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites, Meets, and Chats.

Google Workspace for Work gives you a professional email, online storage, shared calendars, video meetings, and more. Google Apps makes collaboration simple and effective. You will have the ability to share spreadsheets and documents, create video conferences with Meets, and use instant messaging via Chats. You can also share calendars with others, making meetings easy to plan.

Pro Tip: Note: You will need an active Bluehost hosting account in order to set up a Google Workspace account.

Ideally suited for small businesses, Google Workspace will provide you with many tools to help you succeed. One benefit is that Google Workspace includes some great mobile tools. All of the apps are available on mobile phones and tablets (iOS or Android), as well as Windows, Mac, or Linux computers.

FAQ

Q: How many domain names can I use with Google Workspace?

A: You may use Google Workspace on any eligible domain on your account. (Domains not eligible include: Parked, Unassigned, or domains with M365 attached.)

Q: Is it possible to migrate all email, contacts, and filers from cPanel to Google Workspace?

A: Currently, you are not able to import contacts and filters into Google Workspace. You can import your email through Gmail, however.

Q: How do I sign into my Google Workspace account?

A: In your web browser, go to http://google.com/a/your_domain. Make sure to replace your_domain with your actual domain name. Then you can sign in with your Google Workspace user name and password.

Q: Will I have the ability to host some email addresses with Google and some email addresses with Bluehost?

A: At the moment, this is not possible. All MX records will be pointed to Google Workspace when you purchase it for your domain. There will be no ability to mix Bluehost email, and Gmail accounts on the same domain.

Q: Is G Suite compatible with the email client I currently use?

A: While you can access Google Workspace mail from the Gmail web interface, you can also send and receive from your favorite desktop client (Outlook, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, etc.). Depending on the client, you can use the IMAP or POP mail protocol. Here is a guide on How to Enable IMAP and POP. If you’re switching to G Suite from Microsoft Exchange or some other Outlook service, you can use Google Workspace Sync. This is a plugin that lets you use Outlook to manage your Google Workspace mail, calendar, and contacts.
